Ok, so by the age of 32 you would think that you would have figured out what you want to do with your life. Not so for me. I turned down college when I was 18 to stay home and help my mother after my dad walked away from the family. I had big dreams of becoming a criminal psychologist but I am very grateful that I made that decision to stay because if I hadn't, I never would have met my husband and have the life I have now, which I have to say, is pretty damn awesome. 2 years ago, when I was 33, I decided I was going to throw caution to the wind and start my own little cookie company. Baking has always been a passion of mine as well as a stress reliever and after my niece asked me to make favors for her baby shower I realized, "Hey! I enjoy this.". Shugee Mama Baker was established not long after that. So, at 35 years old, I have finally found my niche in life. While Shugee Mama Baker doesn't completely pay the bills (yet ) and I still work part time outside of the home and full time inside as a wife and mommy, I'm hoping my story is one of encouragement and, above all, a lesson in patience. Sometimes you don't know what your dreams are until they are staring you in the face and sometimes it takes time for your dreams to come into full color. You'll get wherever you're going. In the meantime, enjoy the ride and take in the view.
